Eindimensionale Scanner sind in der Lage verschiedene Typen von 1D-Codes zu lesen. Welcher Codetyp Verwendung findet, hängt unter anderem vom Platzangebot ab. Zu den kleinsten Codes gehören 2/5 Interleaved und Code 128.

Allen Codes in Strichform ist jedoch gemein, dass sie sehr anfällig für Beschädigungen sind. Schon beim Fehlen eines Striches kann der Code nicht mehr richtig dechiffriert werden.

Trotzdem sind 1D-Barcodes weitverbreitet, mit auch, weil die Scantechnologie einfach und kostengünstig ist.

One-dimensional scanners are able to read different types of 1D codes. Which code type is used depends, among other things, on the available space. The smallest codes are 2/5 Interleaved and Code 128.

However, all codes in bar form have in common that they are very susceptible to damage. Even if only one bar is missing, the code can no longer be deciphered correctly.

Nevertheless, 1D barcodes are widespread, also because the scanning technology is simple and inexpensive.
